Over the knee boots are back!! While some may think these boots may look a little hookerish, the days where thigh high boots evoked a hookerish Pretty Woman style no longer exists.
Well...if worn correctly. You don’t want to be seen wearing thigh high’s with fish net stockings, or a super mini dress that allows too much skin to be shown in between. But then again you shouldn’t ever be wearing fish net stockings that fad is long gone.
But like really now what isn’t to love about this trend? A boot, that elongates the leg, keeps you warm, protects you from the cold while letting you keep it sexy.
Rhianna, Ciara, Madonna, J-LO, Jessica Simpson and Blake Lively are just a few celebrities who have been seen rockin the trend this winter. Even our First Lady Michelle Obama has a pair!!
When I first saw this boot on Ciara I fell in love!! I was like omg this boot is AMAZING!! I wish more designers would make boots for people with skinny legs. Its so hard for me to find form fitted boots since I have skinny legs. So I am still on the hunt to find my thigh high boots!
Here are some tips from Style expert Katrina Szish on different ways to stunt the boot:
Business Bombshell:
Obviously this isn't going to be appropriate for every office, but the main work-friendly boot has no zippers, studs, buckles or fussy details here. The silhouette is sexy, and the shape is fitted to the leg, but the majority of the leg is covered. Paired with a tailored jacket and fitted mini-dress creates a look that is edgy yet still professional.
Bohemian Weekend:
Weekends are meant for fun. This flat boot is a great option for those who aren't ready to embrace the stiletto look quite yet. The boots that have a relaxed shape and are looser around the knee gives a more casual attitude.
Glamazon Diva:
It's important to avoid the 'Pretty Woman' look, no matter how much we love Julia Roberts. But, this season is all about sex appeal. The best way to stay sophisticated is to keep the look monochromatic. Do not wear hot pink boots with your little black dress. Also, if your dress is a micro-mini choose boots that cover as much of your leg as possible rather than letting too much skin show. Also, be sure to wear opaque tights under the boots for the ultimate streamlined look.
Well ladies keep these tips in mind, and rock out with the thigh high boots. Remember to keep it classy not trashy!!!!
I like this blog. Looks really good.
